Harry Calvert is listed on the Absent Voters List for Middlesbrough. He was a member of the Army Veterinary Corps, and his address was 12 Errol Street, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough. The 1913 map below shows Errol Street highlighted, the bottom end of the street close to Albert Park.

Harry Calvert’s Medal Index Card shows his rank was Private, and he qualified for the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. These indicate Harry served overseas and entered a theatre of war.
Harry was also awarded the Silver War Badge as he was discharged due to ill health. After serving for over two years, he was admitted to the Middlesbrough military hospital on 26th April 1919, for stomach pains, and later discharged on 4th August 1919. The hospital records his age as 32 years old.
